Websites for plumbers and heating engineers

Built for the search someone makes at eleven at night with water coming through the ceiling.

Emergency plumbing is a different kind of website problem. Nobody browses. They search, they look at two or three results on a phone, and they ring whoever looks like they will actually answer.

Which means your site has about four seconds and one screen to do its job. Everything below that first screen matters far less than most web designers will tell you.

What an emergency page has to do

Four things, in this order. Most plumber websites get the order wrong.

Answer the question they searched
A generic 'Welcome to our website' banner.
A heading that says no hot water, boiler leak, or whatever they typed.
Prove you are real
A stock photo of a smiling man in overalls.
Your Gas Safe number, your reviews, photos of your own jobs.
Make calling trivial
A contact form five scrolls down.
A tap-to-call button they cannot miss, fixed to the screen.
Say when you are available
Nothing, so they ring the next one.
Plainly: out of hours, weekends, how fast you can get there.

What is different about a plumbing site

  • A page per emergency: no heating, no hot water, leak, burst pipe, boiler breakdown
  • Gas Safe registration number displayed where it is checked
  • Tap-to-call fixed to the screen on mobile, always
  • Your service area stated so you stop getting calls from thirty miles away
  • Boiler installation and servicing kept separate from emergency work
  • Landlord gas safety certificates as their own page, because landlords search differently

The work splits three ways

Emergency, planned, and landlord work bring in completely different people. One page cannot speak to all three.

Emergency callouts

Speed, availability and a phone number. The highest-value page on the whole site and usually the worst-built one.

Boiler installation

Considered purchase. Finance options, warranty terms, which brands you fit, and photos of tidy installations.

Landlord certificates

Recurring and predictable. A page explaining the legal obligation with a straightforward booking route gets repeat business every year.

Three weeks, start to finish

  1. Week one Work out what you actually need A phone call, your job photos, your service areas. I write the copy and send you the structure before anything gets built.
  2. Week two Build it The site goes together on a preview link you can look at on your phone. Click-to-call everywhere, your reviews on the front page, loads in under two seconds.
  3. Week three Put it live and make it findable Domain pointed, Google Business Profile sorted, local listings consistent, and a walkthrough so you can change your own prices without ringing me.

Questions people actually ask

Will this get me to the top of Google?

Not by itself, and anyone promising that is guessing. What it does is make sure that when someone finds you — search, recommendation, van, anything — they call instead of moving on. The Google Business Profile work matters more than the website for local search, and it is included.

I get all my work from word of mouth. Why bother?

Because word of mouth now means someone types your name into a phone before they ring. A site that loads fast and shows your reviews converts that recommendation. Nothing there and they hesitate.

Can I update prices myself?

Yes, and I will show you how on a call at the end. No ringing me to change a number.

Want to know where you stand?

Send me your website address, or your business name if you have not got one. I will look at it properly and tell you what I find — no charge and no pitch deck afterwards.
